The Unstoppable Force or The Immovable Object?

Read this and you'll know the answer.

I obsess about massive ideas that attempt to define the universe. Strings? Spinning orbs of light? The God Particle? What are we really made of? Let me offer a theory – we are made up of ideas. Ideas so deeply embedded in our DNA that we don’t call them ideas anymore in standard English. Most people would call these collections of neural impulses – instincts. May I suggest to you that the very concept of “instinct” retards human evolution? I mean, come on now, we’re big boys and girls. Let’s choose to evolve, shall we? Let’s get over our animal selves! Let’s stop blaming this seemingly unchangeable imprint we call genetics and get down to business!

Stop choosing to be the Immovable Object and become the Unstoppable Force.

We all need to stop thinking things like “that’s just the way it is.” Limited thinking yields limited results! Since the birth of time, the Universe has repeatedly, billions upon billions of times, overcome seemingly insurmountable odds. It has overcome these odds by having great ideas and sticking with them. When living creatures stick with ideas long enough, DNA records it. But we’re so smart now. Aren’t we? Can’t we make better choices at this point in human evolution? Let’s rewrite the operating system. Let’s jump outside of the kangaroo pouch of conditioned thought and defensive reactions.

First, you need to realize that where you are is where you choose to be. All these conditioned responses weigh us down so much that most of us are best characterized as that sad, old, immovable object. Worse still, they’re our own ideas that are doing this, not some other guy working the strings. Yep, it’s your fault. You have a choice, you can take the red pill or you can take the blue pill. What’s it going to be?

I beg you, be unstoppable! Seriously, why not? Why let situations stop you? Why let ancient instincts be an excuse for you to constantly fear for lack of shelter or lack of food? We were never banished from the Garden of Eden, people! We banished the idea of the Garden on our own. It needs to be replanted within each of us. Let’s not mourn the past, let’s give birth to Now. It’s not going to be easy, it will take time. But nothing will change if we don’t make the effort. Together. We have to overcome those instincts that make us greedy, selfish, mean, thoughtless, jerky, you name it – and give life to the bubbling, blossoming, bountiful, blessed greatness that exists under all this stinky survival-instinct garbage.

Don’t let the norm be normal. Don’t let the status quo define your status, bro. So who wins? The unstoppable force – of course. Why? It’s mobile, it’s adaptable and it’s just plain smarter.
