200px-Robert.anton.wilson-744230Robert Anton Wilson is my favorite author. He was one of those people who was blessed with perspective. To sum him up in one post would be unfair. So consider this an introduction. I plan on touching on some of his transformational thought-gems from time to time.

RAW is probably most well known for his series The Illuminatus! Trilogy which he co-wrote with Robert Shea. For the fiction lover, this book is a safer way to get introduced to him. But, the book he wrote that completely changed me was Prometheus Rising. Page after page reads like a magic spell from the future. He gracefully twists various, colorful strands of insight into a rope that will pull you out of the hole which your ancestors have dug for you for millennia.

If you’re open to it, this book WILL truly change your life. It’s full of fun mental experiments that really help you learn that much of what we do and think is automatic. But it can easily be reprogrammed by ourselves. My favorite simple experiment in the book is about separating The Thinker from the Prover.

If you only have a minute, at least view this very short video of him:
